Thermodial are based in Dublin 12, Ireland and maintain high-end commercial air-conditioning, heating and electrical systems. They operate a 365 / 24 / 7 service model to high regulatory service standards.


Thermodial needed to implement a Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity solution in order to meet the high service availability requirements of a major new client.


Situation prior to Savenet solution implementation

Thermodial had a number of backups in operation in the form of traditional nightly tape backup, online backup and a shadow imaging backup solution.  They had carried out a number of tests of these environments and they did not get 100% satisfaction with the results obtained.  They knew in the event of a real emergency these mediums would not keep their business up and running.

They also needed a solution which would ensure their field engineers and office personnel could continue working remotely in the event of a disaster. They have a physical IT environment of an SBS server and Web server with users connecting from the office and remotely.


Situation post Savenet Cloud Disaster Recovery solution implementation

The implementation of a full Cloud DR Solution resulted in:

  • Successful service availability reports to send to new or existing clients (based on disaster recovery testing)
  • Critical applications available and working in the event of an emergency
  • Zero data loss in the event of an emergency
  • Less than four hours for full site recovery
