Virtual Replication simplifies DR protection of enterprise data for cloud applications and platform services provider to guard against data loss.
Zerto, Inc. introduced its BC and DR software to Oracle OpenWorld 2015 attendees.
Company’s Virtual Replication simplifies protection of enterprise applications to guard against data loss for firms using Oracle International Corporation‘s products. Unlike many backup solutions for sensitive Oracle databases, Virtual Replication maintains consistency of transactions and log files while providing complete application-level protection, without utilizing snapshots.
Replication protects and recovers Oracle databases and applications in virtualized environments by continuously replicating groupings of VMs with RPOs ofs and RTOs of minutes while maintaining application consistency. Company’s automated recovery of VMs and file-level data have greatly simplified the process so any IT administrator or DBA can comfortably execute the recovery process. In addition, non-disruptive failover testing complete with testing reports provides assurance to CIOs and compliance officers alike that all DR requirements are being met. The storage and hypervisor agnostic solution delivers point in time recovery while satisfying the scalability requirements that very large database and application VMs demand.
Oracle users that rely on Virtual Replication include organizations such as KESA, Leupold and Stevens, and customers within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Russell Lynch, senior IT support specialist, KESA, said: “We went to Zerto in search of lower RPO and a product that can protect an Oracle database. Since going with Zerto we consistently achieve 12 second RPO, and a constantly protected Oracle with no risk of crash. Testing our DR plan is now easy with Zerto. With our old system we had to pay a consultant to run the DR test. Now with Zerto I can pick the exact second in time I want to restore back to in a test environment. Zerto protects our file server and all FTP I/O. We are able to recover a file that was created and accidentally deleted. Zerto has bailed us out of more deleted file issues than I can count.”
Zac Streelman, manager, IT, Leupold & Stevens, Inc., said: “Oracle is a key application within our infrastructure and we need to ensure it is protected – if it is unavailable our manufacturing operations stop. Zerto Virtual Replication is so simple. We were very surprised to get such robust protection – especially for Oracle – with something that is so easy to use. We have a small team and are unable to add more resources at this time. Zerto delivers the protection we need with the resources available, while supporting service levels we require to ensure there is no interruption in product development and productivity.”
Paul Zeiter, president, Zerto, said: “We’re excited to introduce Zerto to Oracle users and the Oracle OpenWorld community as a giant leap forward towards supporting their DR service capabilities much more effectively and efficiently. As one of the leading platforms, protecting Oracle systems is of paramount importance to ensure mission critical operations are uninterrupted. The challenge is reducing the complexity and dependency on multiple solutions to create and execute a DR plan, which Zerto’s rapid deployment capabilities provide Oracle users with unprecedented data protection.”
